Best Placement Practices

1. Locate your queen bee first to guarantee she is safely inside the lower brood chamber before setting the barrier down.
2. Set the steel excluder flat on top of the brood boxes.
3. Stack your designated honey supers directly over it.
4. Important Winter Practice: Always remove the excluder at the end of the nectar flow before winter sets in. If left inside during freezing weather, the cluster of bees will move upward for food, leaving the queen trapped behind to freeze
